The Role

The Growth team is excited to welcome a Business Strategy & Operations intern, who will help design and develop business processes that position our team for continued efficiency and growth. The operations team plays a critical role on the growth team in making sure end to end processes are smooth, aligned with business priorities and seamless with our cross-functional partners.

While this intern will help with strategic projects over the course of the summer, the intern’s main capstone project will bring to life our dreams for enhanced portfolio engagement. This capstone project will have direct and immediate impact with our portfolio companies once launched.

The role will provide an opportunity to develop skills as a business strategist who is driven to design holistic, end to end business processes that result in great business outcomes, as well as, bring to life a day in the life at a VC firm. This intern will work with industry leaders and experts who are excited to partner throughout the duration of the summer internship.

For This Role, You Should Be Excited To

  • Support the development of our 2023 engagement model with portfolio companies, which may include:
  • Auditing our current engagement model with portfolio companies
  • Interviewing cross-functional partners to define key priorities
  • Conducting market research to learn industry best practices, procedures, and methodologies for customer success
  • Strategically crafting and developing a plan and narrative for maintaining touchpoints with the portfolio companies, with a specific focus on onboarding new portfolio companies
  • Participate in weekly meetings, building process and identifying process improvements
  • Support our Growth COO & Chief of Staff in day to day operations, including data management, strategic agendas, team weekly or monthly reporting, and ad hoc initiatives
  • Provide cross-functional support to the Growth team, including assisting with day to day strategic priorities where needed
  • Collaborate in a high-energy environment on complex priorities that are top of mind for our leadership team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a 4 year college or university program studying business, marketing, communications, finance or any related field.
  • You work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing priorities and requirements
  • You are a self starter and creative problem solver, thoughtfully communicating with partners along the way
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented; you can handle multiple projects at once
  • You prioritize being resourceful, driven, responsive, and you thrive in an unstructured environment
  • You have genuine excitement for bringing people together and improving day to day process
  • You have experience with (or are eager to learn) Google Suite - Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • You can complete a minimum 12-week internship & are willing to come into the Menlo Park, CA office on Mondays

The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $30/hr, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
