POSITION OVERVIEW

The Fund Investments Analyst is an integral part of the BDC Capital Fund Investments team and participates in all aspects of the investment and portfolio management process.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and compare fund performance, prepare financial projections and prepare reports and presentations on portfolio activity;
  • Maintain an internal database containing information relating to the activity and performance of the underlying funds and portfolio companies;
  • Coordinate with the middle and back office transactions and internal reporting requirements;
  • Monitor and analyze trends in the venture capital market;
  • Assist the fund's investment team in identifying, selecting and analyzing the fund's investment opportunities (including financial modeling, market analysis and analysis of underlying portfolio companies ) ;
  • Participate in special projects, as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or equivalent (concentration in finance or accounting preferred);
  • A CFA and/or MBA (completed or in progress) is considered an asset;
  • Experience in fund investments is considered an asset
  • Experience in a financial or banking institution, particularly in the field of venture capital, would also be an asset.
  • Minimum of one to three years of relevant professional experience;
  • Strong research, financial modeling and analysis skills;
  • Great attention to detail;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks and work independently using initiative and judgment to assess priorities;
  • Demonstrate discretion and professionalism in handling delicate situations and maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication in English; fluency in French would be an asset.
