🅰️ Apeiron Ventures, a leading seed-stage venture capital fund based in Athens, Greece, is looking for an exceptional individual to fill the role of Investment Analyst. Role's responsibilities include supporting the investment process, portfolio management, and the fund’s market thesis and overall strategy.
You will join a small, energetic team at the heart of Greece's innovation and venture capital ecosystem and the surrounding region.
As an Analyst at Apeiron, your role will involve:
- 📊 Supporting deal origination and screening process, including business plan evaluation, financial reports, etc.
- 🔎 Leading on market research (i.e. competition, trends, uses etc) aligned with the fund’s thesis (GenZ Economy / B2B ) and leading on knowledge sharing within the team
- 🗣 Participating in pitch presentations and in various meetings with founders, managers and any other relevant persons of candidate investee companies
- 🤔 Supporting parts of the assessment and deal due diligence of investment opportunities, including financial due diligence, valuation analysis/valuation modeling, market, competition and sales analysis
- ✍️ Supporting end-to-end deal execution, including legal documents and preparation of Investment Committee materials (i.e. investment proposals etc)
- 🤝 Participating in portfolio management and nurturing relationships with founders
- 👀 Looking out for innovation and trends in the sectors and/or specialties of the portfolio
- 👋 Sourcing new outbound investments aligned with the fund’s investment strategy
- 🛫 Attending conferences and events for deal origination and market research purposes
Fund management
- Leading on data collection from portfolio companies for reporting
- Maintain a database with key commercial information on comparable companies to the portfolio companies
- Supporting portfolio companies and the fund on ESG matters
Operations
- Supporting with operations, including events, marketing etc
Skills & Experience
Skills
- Proficient in financial modeling, market sizing, and market analysis and a data-driven approach
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Apeiron’s Tech Stack (Attio CRM, Zappier, Airtable), a plus
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, analytical and critical thinking
- Strong ability to manage time, multitask and work in a dynamic environment
- Independent and capable of taking on projects with limited supervision
- Team player with excellent execution ability
- Passion for technology
Professional Experience
- At least 2 years experience in the professional services industry, preferably with investment banking, venture capital, consulting or entrepreneurship
- Exceptional academic track record
- Network with VCs and startups welcome but not required
