Analyst

Starlight Ventures is seeking a driven and intellectually curious Investment Associate to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to become an impactful early-stage venture investor, where you'll be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and executing investments in cutting-edge companies that are reshaping industries.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Associate, you’ll be a core part of our investment team and involved in every stage of the venture process. Your responsibilities will include:

New Investments

• Source and evaluate innovative investment opportunities.
• Conduct thorough market and industry research to shape investment theses.
• Create compelling and insightful investment snapshots, memos, and models.
• Lead and support the execution of investment deals, working closely with our partners.

Portfolio Management

• Play a key role in monitoring and supporting portfolio companies.
• Help enhance our portfolio reporting processes and provide strategic input for portfolio companies.
• Work directly with founders and leadership teams on key initiatives, attending board meetings and supporting their growth.

Firm Operations

• Contribute to the development of Starlight’s investor relations and reporting processes.
• Play an active role in enhancing internal operations and firm-building activities.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about scientific and deep-tech startups and who thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline, with a proven track record of academic excellence.
• MBA is a plus but not required.
• A genuine interest in science and a strong desire to work in venture capital, with a focus on deep-tech innovations.
• Prior experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with significant experience using Excel and PowerPoint.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a passion for working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
