This role will be integral to our small investment team and work closely with our portfolio companies. The VC Investment Analyst role represents a unique opportunity for a top candidate to gain exposure to all stages of the venture capital investment cycle, interface directly with our Managing Partner and founders, and develop early transaction experience and investment track record.
We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter with a deep passion for the media, marketing, and technology industry. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of work experience, ideally in the financial sector, with a preference for those with investing experience and a strong understanding of general financial concepts and Excel modeling skills. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the ability to understand, articulate, and evaluate business models. Further, outstanding relationship management and communication skills are critical as this role involves regular exposure to internal and external stakeholders. To be successful on our team, candidates should also have a great attitude and a willingness to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
1. Financial Analysis:
- Perform comprehensive financial modeling, including revenue projections, expense forecasts, and valuation analysis for potential investments.
- Analyze financial statements, market data, and industry trends to evaluate investment opportunities and identify potential risks.
2. Due Diligence:
- Assist in conducting comprehensive due diligence for potential investments, including market research and competitive landscape analysis, as well as performing customer interviews and technological evaluations.
- Develop investment memorandums and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations for the investment committee succinctly.
3. Portfolio Monitoring:
- Support ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies by analyzing financial performance, operational metrics, and market dynamics.
- Generate regular performance reports and updates regarding portfolio companies' performance for internal stakeholders and investors.
- Assist the middle office team in supporting the annual audit process.
4. Investment Support:
- Collaborate with senior team members in deal sourcing, structuring, and negotiation processes.
- Assist in formalizing term sheets, legal documents, and additional materials relevant to the transactions.
5. Market Research and Reporting:
- Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to identify investment opportunities and refine our investment strategies.
- Compile market research reports and industry analysis summaries for internal use and external communications.
