BlackWood Ventures is a pan-European venture capital firm based in Copenhagen, backing founders building the future of fintech, Web3, and cleantech. We’ve recently closed Fund I at USD 25m, have invested in 22 companies from that fund so far, and are now preparing for Fund II. This is a unique opportunity to join at a pivotal moment in the growth of one of Europe’s leading new venture funds.

Your Role

As an Investment Analyst, you'll have a unique opportunity to get a look inside the fast-paced world of Venture Capital and early-stage startups. You will work directly with the Investment Principal and play a central role in shaping and executing our investment strategy. Key responsibilities include:

• Deal Sourcing: Identify high-potential startups and build relationships with founders across Europe.
• Investment Analysis: Evaluate companies, analyze markets and business models, and develop investment theses.
• Strategic Research: Support investment strategy with sector research and internal insights.
• Network Development: Engage with founders, VCs, and ecosystem players to expand our reach.
• Portfolio Support: Help our portfolio companies thrive through insight, connections, and sharp thinking.

You Bring

• A sharp, structured mind with strong analytical skills
• Experience in VC, startups, or adjacent roles (internships count)
• A curious, ambitious, and hardworking attitude - whilst staying humble
• A strong grasp of the European startup ecosystem
• The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
• Passion for venture capital and entrepreneurship
