We are currently looking for an Investment Associate to join our team!
About the Position
As an Investment Associate at Eleven, you will be integral to our investment process, from initial deal sourcing to working directly with portfolio founders and supporting them. This role demands a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem.
We are a small but very tenacious team, where everyone plays a significant role both in the everyday tasks and in driving our strategic agenda forward. As part of the team, you’ll be key in scouting, evaluating, structuring deals, and growing the next stars in Southeast Europe.
Responsibilities:
Deal Sourcing and Screening: Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through both inbound and outbound efforts. Conduct initial screening calls and collect the necessary information required to make an educated decision.
Due Diligence and Analysis: Perform comprehensive business and legal due diligence. Prepare investment memos and participate in investment committee meetings to discuss and decide on potential investments.
Deal Execution: Assist in drafting term sheets, manage the preparation and finalization of transaction documents, and ensure smooth execution of investment agreements.
Portfolio Management: Provide ongoing support to portfolio companies, including monthly check-ins and quarterly board meetings. Work with Eleven’s Platform team to develop post-investment game plans.
Team Collaboration: Engage with other associates and partners to share insights, refine investment theses, and develop best practices within the firm.
Communication and Reporting: Regularly update the team on deal progress and maintain comprehensive records of interactions and analysis.
Research and Analysis: Keep up with investment trends regularly and apply your learnings in a practical environment with real effect. Prepare vertical-specific content, reports, investment theses, and other relevant materials that are used in the fund’s decision-making process.
Your Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other STEM field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or other similar field.
You have previously started your own business, club, society, or non-profit.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a proven ability to assess investment opportunities.
Experience with CRM and data room management tools such as Attio and GDrive.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with founders and co-investors.
Self-starter who is not afraid to share innovative ideas and then execute them.
High levels of curiosity and continuous craving to learn new things.
Critical thinker able to make decisions from first principles.
Desire to work in a dynamic organization with ambitious objectives.
Fluent English; other languages are a plus.
