Moderne is seeking an Associate to join the Investor Relations & Capital Formation team.
ASSOCIATE, INVESTOR RELATIONS & CAPITAL FORMATION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Moderne’s Founder and the firm’s Head of Investor Relations and Capital Formation on key tasks including:
I. Business Development
Mobilize personal network and the firm’s network to cultivate new relationships and garner new investments into Moderne’s Funds. Responsibilities will include:
- Attend fundraising-focused events to nurture existing relationships and form new partnerships with prospective investors
- Research compatible investor opportunities and develop relationships from them
- Prepare for client meetings and deliverables
II. Communications and Marketing
The Associate will be responsible for co-creating investor communications, marketing collateral and other deliverables. Responsibilities to include
- Review and update existing fundraising collateral including marketing presentations, DDQs, quarterly investor reports, press releases, and other bespoke materials as necessary and/or create new collateral as needed to effectively communicate with existing and prospective investors
- Prepare deliverables for investor calls, webinars and meetings; compile dossiers and company descriptions for client meetings
- Create and manage investor communications, including capital calls, management reports, investor newsletters and webinars
- Help design and execute the Annual LP Meeting and other LP events throughout the year; including the maintenance and updating of investor invite lists
- Serve as a key point of contact for current and prospective investors, handling inquiries, and maintaining strong relationships
III. Administration
The Associate will be responsible for co-creating investor communications, collateral and other deliverables. Responsibilities to include:
- Maintain the investor database, logging updates in Moderne’s CRM platform including contacts, event and investor notes and call activities; track prospective investor opportunities across funds
- Maintain and update Moderne’s Data Room
- Work with the finance team, fund admin, investors and lawyers as needed to manage, track and execute offering docs and turn all investor-related requests in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
- At least three years of work experience, preferably in a similar role at a private investment firm or private placement firm or within client services with outward client-facing experience
- Exemplary interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Exceptional PowerPoint skills and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Superior organizational, time and project management skills
- Strong academic credentials, work ethic and a genuine passion for excellence
- Exceptional attention to detail, to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
- Strong and collaborative team member. “No-task-is-too-small,” team-player attitude
- Self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced, growing team environment
- Chicago-based or willingness to relocate to Chicago
