Description
We are looking for an analyst or associate to join our operations team and help us provide an outstanding service to our investors and portfolio companies.
In this capacity, you will need to be a self-starter who can build and manage a variety of cross-functional activities including fund operations, investment diligence, and more.
This is a maternity cover from September 2024 to April 2025. Full time contract could be an option, but it is not assured.
Responsibilities
- Investor onboarding – We are in the process of fundraising our second fund. You will be responsible for onboarding investors in the Fund and answer any questions they may have. Update dataroom information and support partners in their fundraising roadshows.
- Execute investments – You will liaise with our fund admin teams and counsel to execute investments and follow ons. This includes legal and ESG due diligence, performing KYC on the company, gathering all the relevant communication, updating our investment monitoring file and executing the transaction. Manage the quarterly portfolio data collection and reporting process.
- Communications with investors - Prepare quarterly reports and investor updates. Provide capital statements to investors.
- Audit - liaise with auditors to provide them with the information they require
- Fund accounting - Perform review of quarterly and annual financial statements prepared by the outsourced service provider. Coordinate the financial reporting timelines and deliverables for all Fund entities, including working with the auditors and outsourced service providers. Organize the quarterly valuation process, including pulling together necessary information and performing initial analysis. Manage the treasury function, banking relationships, and analyze capital deployment strategy including recycle, liquidity, and fund scenario planning. Oversee Funds tax work.
- Company accounting - Lead the management company financial reporting, tax and other activities. Approve invoices and assist in budget preparation.
- Liaise with regulators - Ensure financial and regulatory compliance.
- Support the General Partners, CFO, and head of investor relations on ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience, primarily in Venture Capital.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
- Experience working with outsourced service providers.
- CPA qualification preferred but not required.
- Intellectual curiosity and the desire to grow and learn.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Keen ability to think through systems and processes to streamline day to day operations and reporting.
