Harmonix Fund I LP is an early-stage venture firm founded in 2021 by Maximilian Winter. His first fund, Harmonix Fund LLC, was founded in 2018. Harmonix invests in the intersection of healthcare, life sciences, and deep technology. About the Role
The Head of Investor Relations is a liaison between the firm’s management, limited partners, and the financial community. We require that s/he have experience raising capital for an emerging venture capital fund, preferably focusing on healthcare and life sciences verticals.
S/he is responsible for developing, expanding, and maintaining positive relationships. The Head of IR must be a seasoned business development leader with extensive experience generating business results and leading teams with effective management skills. S/he will work closely with the GP to develop a comprehensive capital formation strategy and scale Harmonix’s current capital base. The job requires a corporate professional who also has entrepreneurial skills and looks to the future with optimism to envision what could be possible. Success in this role requires collaboration, communication, leadership, and vision. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Establish a robust investor relations strategy and framework; develop investor confidence and belief in the company’s vision and strategy for delivering investor value
- Manage a strong reputation by demonstrating consistent and clear communication between internal and external parties
- Develop and execute capital formation strategy; introduce net new LP relationships to the firm
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of investor inquiries (existing and new), serving as the key point of contact for the investment community
- Develop policies, procedures, strategies, and budgets to support the communications infrastructure; develop presentations and related scripts for investors, investor conferences, roadshows, corporate communications, and other activities.
- Participate in the preparation of public communications to best present the company’s strategy and plans to current and potential investors; schedule, plan, and participate in investor meetings and events
- Manage media relations, including media liaison, managing relationships, and developing supporting materials as required; maintain an investor relations section on the company website or LP Portal to include information such as recent financial reports and press releases
- Develop and monitor metrics for the investor relations function; analyze and present financial trends, competitor behavior, investor issues, and anything else that could impact the company
- Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters ensure compliance with reporting laws that regulate the financial industry
- Provide senior management with accurate feedback related to discussions with the investment community and its reaction to company business strategies, operating results, and other corporate developments
Candidate Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated ability identifying and mapping LP base, engaging and networking with investor community, project managing existing LPs, and closing new opportunities
- Track record sourcing, making cold calls, and being the first point of contact for all investor-related matters; can effectively represent the firm and its value proposition to external stakeholders
- Proven ability to create new processes and systems to enhance efficiency across the IR function and the broader firm; can improve and add value to existing fundraising processes to drive successful closes
- Networked in the venture capital industry; has relationships with VC contacts and knows major players in the LP ecosystem; can lead meetings autonomously and credibly
