Venture Capital Intern — Investor Relations
Healthcare Shares is seeking a Venture Capital Intern to help build relationships with physicians, healthcare executives, entrepreneurs, and other prospective Limited Partners (LPs) and investors.
Our marketing efforts generate and schedule calls with prospective investors, so the intern’s primary responsibility will be speaking with LPs, introducing them to Healthcare Shares, and developing long-term relationships with them.
Responsibilities
- Conduct introductory calls with prospective LPs generated through our marketing efforts.
- Introduce prospective investors to Healthcare Shares, our investment opportunities, and our healthcare investment community.
- Build relationships with physicians, healthcare executives, entrepreneurs, and other accredited investors.
- Encourage healthcare leaders to become involved as investors, advisors, mentors, and members of the Healthcare Shares community.
- Learn about each LP’s background, expertise, and investment interests and identify ways they can contribute to the community.
- Follow up with prospective investors and maintain relationships over time.
- Help connect investors and advisors with portfolio companies where their expertise or network may be valuable.
- Speak directly with healthcare startup founders and executives to learn about their companies and potential investment opportunities.
- Gain exposure to startup evaluation, deal sourcing, and the portfolio company side of venture capital.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Outgoing, personable, and comfortable on calls.
- Excited about speaking with investors, physicians, healthcare executives, and startup founders.
- Interested in venture capital, healthcare, startups, and entrepreneurship.
- A strong communicator and relationship builder.
- Organized, professional, and proactive with follow-up.
Prior venture capital experience is not required. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience on both sides of venture capital: building relationships with LPs and speaking directly with healthcare startups seeking investment.
