The Role

The Opportunity Fund is seeking an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial intern to join the new Value Creation team. The Value Creation team aims to quickly leverage the SoftBank network and our portfolio company’s expertise to create local unicorns. We expect to manage 60 companies by the end of 2021 and help them get to their next levels

As part of this new venture, you will be expected to independently perform various functions that lead up to a deal or partnership, including engaging portfolio companies, developing business plans, running market research, partnership selection, due diligence, modelling and preparing investment memos. Project management skills are extremely important. You will also be expected to help in the development of new partnerships and deals that aim to support our portfolio company’s growth. You will work in a very entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment with frequent opportunities to interact with the firm’s senior leadership and portfolio companies.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead the project management status of current companies and growth opportunities
  • Lead projects by quickly understanding a portfolio company’s business model and developing structured analysis
  • Organize roadshows to present to the region and explore our network to possible partners
  • Present conclusions, perform due diligence, financial modeling, and communicate results and executive-level insights with senior leaders
  • Proactively look for new opportunities and propose new projects for SBOF
  • Identify and educate team on new, innovative technology trends and markets
