Job Description
We are a leading alternative Asset Manager in Spain (investing in Early-stage VC, Growth VC, Venture debt, Strategic Public Equity, Private Equity, and Infrastructure) with +€1bn of Assets Under Management, more than 200 portfolio companies and +60 exits (incl. companies sold to Facebook, Symantec, Intel, Volkswagen, or Activision, among others)
We are looking for 2 entrepreneurship lovers to join our Venture Capital team that invests between €500k to €3m in leading Digital Tech companies in fields such as B2B SaaS, Fintech, Insurtech, Machine Learning/AI, Big Data, etc.
The Investment Analyst Trainee will be part of the investment team, and report directly to one of the seniors in the team. Upon joining, you will choose an area of specialization in any of the value-chain verticals (Dealflow, Portfolio or Tech/Fund Mgmt.), in which you'll develop c. 70% of your tasks. For the remaining, you will work in squads with other analysts and seniors in cross-fund projects, due diligence efforts and event attendance
What you'll be doing:
- Support GPs and Associates in the preparation of investment proposals
- Manage new investment leads and manage the investment team workload for new analyses
- Perform weekly meetings with the Senior team to qualify new investment opportunities
- Be the first point of contact with entrepreneurs and meet with founders to make the first and initial assessment of potential investment opportunities
- Prepare presentations of pre-selected projects: analysis, summary and presentation of a project with emphasis on our key analysis drivers
- Preparation and review of the financial plan of a project: adapt the plan of entrepreneurs to a "bottom up" model with focus on growth and cost drivers and projection of cashflows
- Perform market research and due diligence of pre-selected projects
- Present investment proposal presentations to the investment committee
- Participate in the preparation of LOIs/TS and investment structures
- You will be part of the investment committee of the Venture Capital team.
- Take ownership and manage 1 of our 3 proprietary management tools (dealflow, portfolio or network)
- Perform exploratory data analyses on historical dealflow/portfolio data and future trends
- Help our +42 portfolio companies (and growing) mainly in business development and capital fundraising
- Initiate, lead and develop tech data driven projects within the asset manager
- Participate and engage in national and international VC/startup events to scout for dealflow and increase Inveready's line of sight
Who you are
- Ideally, you are a last-year student of either (1) an engineering/economics hybrid degree (e.g., GTIAE), (2) International Business Economics or (3) BBA
- Ideally, you have actively participated in initiatives such as consulting clubs, investing/finance clubs, entrepreneurship clubs, or similar projects
- You fluently speak English and Spanish
- You are available for 10-12 months, on a full-time flexible basis (i.e., we adapt to your lecture times and exams, and support you with it)
- You have a strong and demonstrable interest in the startup/venture capital ecosystem
- You have a passion for technology, and ideally are able to code
- You have basic knowledge in Finance and excel business modelling
- You are proficient in structuring and executing presentations
- You have outstanding organizational and reporting skills
- You have outstanding networking and relational skills
- You have the ability to work under pressure
