Job Description

Panache is looking for a Marketing and Community Lead to spearhead Panache’s marketing, communications and community relations efforts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling all marketing communications with portfolio founders, LPs and the broader tech community
  • Managing our online presence, including our website, blogs, and social media
  • Handling communications and logistics for Panache Academy
  • Managing and cultivating our community of 200+ founders
  • Organizing and running in-person and online events

The role is based in Vancouver, where you will report to our Vancouver-based Partner.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage Portfolio Communications:

You will manage all communications with our growing portfolio of 100+ companies. This includes newsletters, announcements, invitations to participate in events, answering questions, making introductions between founders, and acting as a first point-of-contact for any and all founder questions. You will also be responsible for nurturing our online founder community, including identifying opportunities to deliver new and exciting benefits to our founders.

  • External Marketing and Communications:

You will manage all public communications for Panache. Anything that needs to be written, you will write. This includes website and blog content, newsletters, press releases, event announcements and social media posts. You are expected to be able to write content in a voice that is appropriate for the target audience, so adaptability is important.

  • Panache Academy Logistics:

Panache Academy is our San Francisco-based virtual accelerator. You will be responsible for all program logistics, including booking speakers, making sure they’re prepared for their events and overseeing program delivery. You will also be responsible for inviting founders, overseeing attendance and reporting on program outcomes using post-program surveys and other metrics. After you have run several programs, we would love to hear what changes you think could be made to improve them. This could mean changing up the content, tweaking the format, or implementing new ways to track program outcomes.

  • Live Events:

Panache Ventures hosts a variety of in-person events across Canada each year. You will be responsible for sourcing and booking venues and vendors, booking speakers, promoting events and overseeing their execution. You will also be deeply involved in brainstorming and creating new events in support of our larger mission of supporting founders across Canada.

Your Career Path

You will play an important role in the success of Panache Ventures and our portfolio companies. You will be involved in all aspects of our marketing and communications and will gain insights into our portfolio companies’ growth trajectories.

Over time, we see this role involved in our larger mission of supporting startup founders across Canada.

We also believe that the position will set you up for success as an angel investor, founder, operator, marketer, and/or community manager.

Who You Are

You’re an enthusiastic marketer who doesn’t let a lack of resources get in your way. You’re eager to learn and use what you have to get further and be faster than those with more experience.

You are collaborative, reliable, and able to navigate relationships in the startup ecosystem. You have a high emotional intelligence and enjoy working in a diverse, high-achieving team.

You are detail-oriented, can juggle many projects at once, and can reliably carry projects over the finish line.

You are an excellent communicator, both online and offline. In writing, you know how to deliver a message succinctly but without sacrificing your personality. You are also adaptable and able to write for different audiences.

Professional Background:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing (including web, email and social media marketing)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Prior experience with HubSpot
  • Prior experience with Webflow, Wordpress or another CMS
  • Prior experience organizing webinars or other online events
  • Strong analytical skills (prior experience with Google Analytics a plus)
  • Creative personality and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to communicate in both English and French preferred
