About Dealflow.eu & Ventures.eu
Dealflow.eu is not just a Venture Builder; it’s a catalyst for growth and innovation in the European startup ecosystem. We specialize in discovering and scaling up the most promising European startups. Our operations are twofold:
- Consulting the European Innovation Council (EIC): We play a crucial role in supporting the EIC’s €10 billion fund. Our responsibilities include portfolio management support (currently over 450 startups), reporting, managing the co-investor network, and providing scale-up services.
- Consulting the Innovation Radar: We assist investors in discovering high-potential EU-funded innovations. Through our matchmaking services, startups find investors to realize their market potential.
Based on our extensive Venture Building experience, we have recently established Ventures.eu, a Portuguese based Managing Entity which is launching a new Venture Capital Fund. The fund will target Portuguese and EU based companies, across various stages of growth, with a primary emphasis on Seed, Series A, and Series B stages.
About the role
The Investment Team member’s key focus will be in managing our new Venture Capital Fund’s investment team, as well as playing a pivotal role in the other dimensions of the project, including in taking a key role in our fundraising activities and the building of our investment portfolio.
In parallel, the new Investment Team member will also be involved in our Venture Building activities at Dealflow.eu’s, notably by supporting our European Innovation Council (EIC) and Innovation Radar projects. This role is therefore multifaceted: while the main focus will be on the management of Ventures.eu Fund, the work will also entail the direct participation in our Venture Building activities, through Dealflow.eu.
Responsibilities
- Lead Ventures.eu VC Fund investment team and be a key person in the fundraising activities, bring strong expertise in Portuguese & European VC & Private Equity. sectors, and drive investment strategies.
- Actively support in fundraising of the targeted €60M.
- Conduct due diligence, market analysis, and investment valuations for potential portfolio additions.
- Collaborate on the development and execution of investment strategies.
- Manage relationships with portfolio companies, including strategic guidance and performance monitoring.
- Engage in our Venture Building activities, including stakeholder management, startup support, co-investors management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Investment Committees, particularly in VC & Private Equity.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling and investment analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and to train others.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Portuguese is a significant advantage.
- Based in Portugal or willing to relocate.
- Added advantage if: Experienced in fundraising from Funds-of-Funds or Family Offices or Sovereign funds
