Why You Should Consider This Role:

As a Venture Scout at GetFresh Ventures (GFV), your mission is to identify and engage with high-potential startups that align with our investment and advisory focus.

These startups are typically in the early stages of their go-to-market (GTM) strategy, facing challenges in scaling revenue, or looking to engineer growth for a successful exit. Success in this role means finding startups that have market demand but are struggling with execution—either they need help scaling effectively, have raised capital but stalled in growth, or are preparing for an exit to increase valuation.

Your efforts will directly contribute to GFV's ability to offer strategic, hands-on support to founders navigating these challenges.

Types of Muscles You Will Flex:

  • Identify Target Startups: Scout early-stage companies that show market demand but are struggling with scaling, fundraising, or preparing for exit. Ideal companies include those:
  • In early stages of their GTM with potential demand but needing help to scale or raise capital.
  • That have raised capital but are unable to scale revenue effectively.
  • That have plateaued and need to be re-engineered to achieve growth.
  • Founders who need strategic guidance to scale and increase their company’s valuation ahead of an exit.
  • Build Relationships with Founders: Engage and build trust with founders, demonstrating how GFV can provide strategic guidance and execution support to overcome scaling challenges.
  • Perform Initial Startup Evaluations: Conduct preliminary assessments on companies’ market fit, GTM execution, and scalability potential. Identify the gaps where GFV’s services can deliver the most impact.
  • Report Insights to Leadership: Provide regular reports to GFV’s leadership team on your scouting activities, detailing promising leads and potential partnerships.
  • Collaborate on Deal Flow: Work closely with the GFV team to facilitate the onboarding of new clients and partnerships based on your assessments of company potential and fit.

What You Will Need In Your Quiver:

  • Experience in Venture Capital or Startups: A background in venture capital, startup ecosystems, or entrepreneurship. Previous experience as a founder or in early-stage investment is highly valued.
  • Strong Network in Startup Communities: A robust network with founders, venture capitalists, accelerators, and industry leaders.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze business models, identify growth opportunities, and assess a company’s scalability.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of building relationships with founders and communicating the value GFV can offer.
  • Self-Driven and Organized: Ability to work independently, manage multiple scouting opportunities, and report insights consistently in a remote work environment.

Success in This Role Looks Like:

  • Identifying a consistent flow of early-stage startups that meet GFV’s investment and advisory criteria.
  • Developing strong relationships with founders who are ready to engage with GFV for advisory support or partnership.
  • Accurately assessing startups’ potential for growth and providing actionable insights to GFV leadership.
  • Contributing to the growth of GFV’s portfolio by helping founders overcome key challenges related to scaling, capital raising, or preparing for exit.

How This Role Fits Into the Organization:

As a Venture Scout, you are the first point of contact between GFV and high-growth startups. Your ability to identify and engage the right founders is crucial in shaping GFV’s portfolio and ensuring the success of the companies we work with. You will directly impact GFV’s ability to provide meaningful advisory and executional support, helping startups scale effectively and maximize their potential for a successful exit.

How You Are Going To Make Bank:

This is a commission-based role, with compensation tied to the successful sourcing of new advisory partnerships and venture deals. Details will be discussed based on deal, experience and network.
