Vulcan Capital is the investment arm of Vulcan, Inc. and is responsible for managing a multi-billion dollar portfolio of public and private investments. Based in Seattle, WA with additional offices in Palo Alto, CA and Singapore, Vulcan Capital was founded in 2003. The Public Securities team manages a global portfolio of public companies with a focus on long-term investing. The Private Investment team also manages a global portfolio, with a focus on technology, internet, and life sciences companies.

This position is based in our Seattle, WA headquarters and the Associate will be an integral part of the Venture Capital team managing existing portfolio investments and contributing to the deployment of new investment capital. Associates participate through each stage of the investment process, from initial meetings with entrepreneurs, due diligence, and investment recommendations. We expect Associates to source opportunities and take a primary role driving opportunities forward. Associates also work closely with management of portfolio companies, attending board meetings and actively supporting our companies on strategy, finance, operations, recruiting and product. The Associate will also participate in the development and implementation of the venture team’s investment strategy. This may include the ongoing collection and synthesis of industry data, identification of industry trends, and assessment of new technologies and market opportunities.

Educational and work experience related to investments, finance, technology, consulting, research or operational roles. Additionally, the successful candidate should be able to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis at an individual company level and more broadly across industry and sector landscapes. Most importantly, the individual should be intellectually curious and engender a strong sense of commitment and integrity.
