Supernode Global is a leading venture capital fund investing in seed stage companies at the nexus of content and technology.
We are a diverse and dynamic team that come from a mix of entrepreneurial, operational and investment backgrounds. As part of this small and mighty team, the Investment Principal will be a key member who will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the fund. A great fit would be someone who has a knack for connecting with founders on a human level, a collaborative spirit, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an obsession for tech, content, and startups.
Our portfolio currently consists of 29 companies based throughout the UK, Europe, and the U.S. Our aim as investors is simple: find the most promising startups and do whatever we can to support their growth. We have made introductions to critical customers and partners, overseen hiring processes, run PR outreach, introduced key investors, executed re-brands, found advisors and much more for our portfolio companies.
Tasks
Deal Origination
- Use a variety of means including personal networks, communities and events to find the best early stage startups in our space
- Work with both junior team members and Partners to screen startups and determine which ones to progress
Leading Investments & Overseeing Diligence Processes
- Analyse investment targets, lead due diligence processes, and negotiate deal terms for companies you have sourced, which the IC greenlights for investment
- Manage and continually optimise the due diligence process as necessary to ensure it is effective and efficient
- Write and review investment memos that are presented to the investment committee
- Present and discuss investments at our investment committee where you will have a non-voting role
Portfolio Management
- In tandem with one Partner and our Portfolio Operations Lead, build relationships and work closely with the startups that you have sourced to deliver support across the following areas:
- Fundraising for future rounds, including introductions to prospective investors
- Introductions to key potential partners, customers, and talent
- Supporting founders’ wellbeing
- Providing strategic advice and being a sounding board
Strategic projects, Leadership, Operations
- Work with team members to set appropriate goals and measure our progress
- Regular meetings with junior investment team members to check in on their progress, help them with any issues, and provide support that will help them maximise their potential
- Hiring, training and coaching the next generation of team members
- Assisting with fundraising from LPs
Requirements
Must haves:
- 5+ years’ experience as an early-stage venture investor
- Significant experience leading on deals and working with companies post-investment
- A passion for all things Content and Tech
- Intellectual curiosity and open-mindedness
Nice to haves:
- Experience working at a Tier 1 venture fund
- Operating experience at either a startup or scale up
- Specialism in growth or technical areas such AI or data science
