Now we're looking for a VP, Finance to help write our next chapter.

THE ROLE

Human Capital is seeking a VP of Finance with a mix of technology, fund management, and operating experience. This individual will report directly to our Chief Business Officer and work in close partnership with him to drive financial planning, business modeling, forecasting and management reporting activities.  

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the CBO and extended management team on daily operations and major finance and business initiatives
  • Traverse between overseeing the daily accounting of the management company to monitoring the investment funds including overseeing the review of daily bank activities (e.g., manage cash)
  • Lead financial operations across the organization including guiding the firm’s financial and tax strategies, budgeting and forecasting, and fund administration
  • Assist with investor requests and ad hoc queries for internal and external parties
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual updates for internal and external parties including rolling forecasts, capital calls, LP communications
  • Manage relationship and communicate with third-party vendors on all matters related to firm / fund operations, technology, and administration, including: interacting with various teams within the firm and external service providers (e.g., fund administrator, banking partner, capital call line of credit provider, accountants / auditors and tax advisors)
  • Oversee the financial operations of active funds and SPVs, financial details of the investment process end-to-end, wire processing and cash controls, invoice payment, and financial reconciliation process
  • Oversee tax planning and filing across stakeholders
  • Manage the preparation of the funds’ periodic Net Asset Value calculations and routine financial statements, audits, and review of other fund-related reports

YOUR PAST

We expect you to have done some of these things, but it’s not required that you’ve done all of them.

  • At least 12 years of related industry experience within VC or PE, with proven growth trajectory and people management experience
  • Past experience with closing books, working with a fund administrator, and some tax knowledge
  • Experience being a dynamic leader with strong communication skills
  • Proven track record of driving financial results
  • Experience partnering with business leaders across many functions

WHAT WE’LL OFFER

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $255,000 - $345,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
