Role Description
As an Associate, you will work closely with Partners on strategic initiatives across investment mandates, thesis building, and portfolio management.
Sourcing:
Hunt for the next big thing through strategic prospecting and relationship building
Spot emerging trends and articulate the "why now" for investment opportunities
Portfolio Support: Conduct comprehensive analyses for portfolio companies—including surveys and data-driven insights—and partner with them to support and drive key initiatives.
Diligence: Lead comprehensive analysis of potential investments, diving deep into business models, market dynamics, and competitive positioning. Own the diligence process
Thesis building: Build point of view on potential investment areas
-Work with a #1 to identify key questions (e.g. filters for a company, market size, the right kind of founders to look for) and the best steps to get to the answer
-A thesis will usually involve secondary research, expert calls, meeting early and scaled out founders in the space; synthesize takeaways and share with the broader team
-Identify upcoming areas which the firm should have a point of view (based on the market, early seed activity, where high quality founders are starting up) and make sure we work on them
Other pieces of work include longer term firm initiatives, events etc.
