Role Overview

The Senior Venture Scout is a pivotal role within LvlUp Ventures and for our 15+ funding partners, ideal for individuals driven by identifying, assessing, and promoting promising early-stage startups. Scouts use their industry expertise, extensive networks, and sharp analytical skills to source high-quality deals, directly impacting our investment strategy and the success of our portfolio.

Core Responsibilities

• Source and submit a minimum of 10 compelling startup opportunities monthly.
• Maintain and cultivate an expansive network with startup founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and industry influencers.
• Mentor and guide startup founders through the LvlUp funding application process, ensuring thorough and accurate submissions.
• Regularly participate in strategic meetings and knowledge exchange to refine LvlUp’s investment thesis and deal-sourcing methodologies.
• Represent LvlUp Ventures at industry events, conferences, and networking activities, expanding visibility and reinforcing our sourcing pipeline.
• Optionally: Attending Weekly Senior Scout Virtual Meetings, Attend Monthly Virtual Venture Scout Meetup, Communicating in Discord Community, Submit Deal Recommendations/Memos

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Genuine interest in venture capital; prior experience sourcing high-quality startup deals is a plus.
• Knowledge of specific industry verticals, current market trends, and growth dynamics.
• Established network within entrepreneurial, venture, or industry-specific communities.
• Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Compensation & Perks

• Lucrative upside: tiered per-deal cash compensation plus 1%–10% carry or $500–$10,000+ per funded deal, pending deal flow partner terms
• Volume based quarterly payouts for scouts who meet or exceed target deal volume
